Medical Information Conference Croatia (MICC) is organized by the Central Medical Library, with support of the University of Zagreb School of Medicine and Wolters Kluwer/Ovid. This is the only conference that focuses on information support for medical science, education, and practice in Croatia, and it has been organized annually since 2005. MICC brings together users of medical information (physicians, scientists, nurses, students, and other healthcare professionals), medical librarians, and the public. Invited speakers, distinguished Croatian experts in the field of medicine, information professionals, and foreign lecturers contemplate key issues related to the publication, dissemination, access, use and preservation of information in the science, higher education, and healthcare system.
Numerous participants during almost 20 years indicate the quality of the conference. Moreover, MICC is recognized by the Croatian Medical Chamber, and it is regularly included in the list of professional events that are credited in the process of continuous professional education for physicians.
MICC 2026 - Medical knowledge in the digital age – new communication channels, trust and responsibility
For many years now, medical information in the digital environment has no longer circulated exclusively through scientific journals, books, and professional conferences. Podcasts, social media, short-form video content, and algorithmically filtered information are becoming an important part of both professional and public communication. At the same time, the development of new technologies, including artificial intelligence, is transforming the way medical knowledge is searched, interpreted, and applied.
The MICC 2026 conference will address issues of maintaining trust, professional standards, and ethical responsibility in such an environment, while exploring how to balance innovation and integrity of medical information.
